Where it came from
Released in 1994, Kero Kero Keroppi no Sora wo Tobetara is an original video animation produced by Sanrio. It belongs to the broader Keroppi franchise, a series centered on a cheerful green frog living in Donut Pond that rose to significant popularity in the early 1990s as part of Sanrio's character expansion strategy.
The production maintains the quintessential Sanrio house style of the era, focusing on wholesome, educational, and gentle storytelling intended for younger audiences. The animation reflects the design sensibilities of 1990s Japanese children's media, emphasizing vibrant colors and simple character models to translate the static stationery and toy designs into a moving, narrative-driven format.
