Provenance

Where it came from

KING OF PRISM -Dramatic PRISM.1- was released in 2024 as a compilation film that revisits the origins of the King of Prism franchise. Produced by Avex Pictures, the project serves as a theatrical celebration of the series' debut, integrating iconic musical performances and narrative arcs from the original Pretty Rhythm universe into a polished, high-definition cinematic experience. It was created to provide both long-time devotees and new audiences with a streamlined entry point into the world of Prism Show entertainment.

The film maintains the distinct aesthetic associated with the series, focusing on the blend of vibrant 2D and 3D animation that characterizes the franchise's musical numbers. Under the direction of the production team at Avex, the design choices prioritize spectacle and emotional resonance, aiming to capture the over-the-top, glitter-filled energy that defined the series' initial run. Upon release, it was received as a nostalgic retrospective, successful in its goal of reinvigorating fan interest in the ongoing Prism Show legacy.
