While investigating a sound anomaly across the galaxy, Basara crash-lands on a snowy planet and receives an unfriendly welcome from the local residents. On the planet, he befriends Pedro, a four-year-old boy who watches the Galaxy Network and idolizes Fire Bomber. Basara also discovers that the sound he's searching for is generated by Emilia, a lone Meltrandi struggling to make music of her own.

Where it came from
Released in 1995, Macross 7: The Galaxy is Calling Me! serves as a cinematic expansion of the popular Macross 7 television series. Produced by Hal Film Maker, the film was designed to bridge narrative gaps and further explore the musical themes central to the Macross franchise. It follows the protagonist, Basara Nekki, as he encounters a mysterious entity, maintaining the series' signature blend of space opera, mecha combat, and rock music.
The production sought to capitalize on the success of the television broadcast, utilizing the studio's proficiency in character-driven animation to deepen the lore surrounding the Spiritia energy concept. Directed by Tetsuro Amino, the film aimed to provide a standalone experience that would satisfy established fans while showcasing the aesthetic evolution of the characters and their iconic Valkyrie mecha designs in a higher-budget medium.
