Slimetachi no Idobata Kaigi

Slimetachi no Idobata Kaigi was produced by studio AQUA ARIS and released in 2020 as a series of short-form original net animation episodes. Created as a promotional companion to the broader That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise, the series leans into a lighthearted, comedic aesthetic designed to expand upon the slice-of-life interactions between the series' titular slime characters. The animation focuses on the internal dynamics and humorous commentary of the monsters living within the Jura Tempest Federation, providing fans with a informal look at their daily habits.

The design of the series centers on a minimalist, chibi-inspired art style that contrasts with the more elaborate visual scope of the main anime adaptation. By utilizing this simplified aesthetic, the studio aimed to emphasize the playfulness of the characters, facilitating quick-paced dialogue and visual gags that fit the shorter ONA format. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a niche supplemental project intended for dedicated followers of the source material, serving as a humorous palate cleanser between larger seasonal installments of the franchise.
