The☆Doraemons: Goal! Goal! Goal!!

Released in 2002 as the seventh short film in The Doraemons series, Goal! Goal! Goal!! serves as a spin-off from the long-running Doraemon franchise created by Fujiko F. Fujio. The production reflects the franchise's strategy of utilizing its ensemble cast of robot cats from different countries to create high-energy, sports-centric narratives designed to appeal to younger audiences. Following the tradition of the series, the film highlights the collaborative spirit and distinct personalities of the seven Doraemons as they work together toward a common objective.

The film was directed by Tetsuo Yasumi, a seasoned veteran of the Doraemon animation team, who aimed to maintain the colorful, lighthearted aesthetic established in the earlier short films. The animation style adheres to the classic 2D cel-look that defined the franchise at the turn of the millennium, prioritizing expressive character acting and fast-paced slapstick humor. Upon its theatrical debut, it was received as a standard entry in the annual spring film lineup, appreciated by fans for its focus on the dynamic chemistry between the unique members of the Doraemons roster.
