Where it came from
Triangle Heart, a three-episode original video animation series released in 2000, was produced by studio Discovery. It serves as the narrative origin for the broader Lyrical Nanoha franchise, establishing the character of Nanoha Takamachi before the series pivoted toward the magical girl genre that would later define its mainstream success.
The animation features character designs by Masaki Tsuzuki, who sought to blend elements of contemporary character-driven drama with the aesthetic standards common in early 2000s direct-to-video anime. While the OVA served primarily as a promotional vehicle and proof of concept, its distinct departure from its eventual sequel series makes it a notable archival piece for fans of the franchise's creative evolution.
