Umayon: Shinsaku Short Anime

Umayon: Shinsaku Short Anime was released in 2021 as a set of original video animation specials following the conclusion of the Umayon television series. Produced by DMM.futureworks and W-Toon Studio, these shorts were designed to expand upon the lighthearted, chibi-style comedy established in the Umayon manga and its prior anime adaptation, focusing on the daily lives of the anthropomorphic horse girls from the Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise.

The production sought to maintain the visual consistency and whimsical tone of the original series while providing additional narrative vignettes that were not covered in the standard broadcast run. The project was received by fans as a supplementary piece of the broader multimedia franchise, valued primarily for its comedic departure from the more dramatic narrative arcs found in the main Uma Musume series, and it stands as a testament to the franchise's enduring popularity and character-driven focus.
