Originally published in German as System der christlichen Glaubenslehre, this work by Isaak August Dorner represents the culmination of 19th-century mediation theology. Dorner, a prominent Berlin professor, sought to bridge the gap between traditional Lutheran orthodoxy and the critical, historical advancements of his era. This English translation, issued by the Edinburgh-based firm T. & T. Clark, was part of a broader late-Victorian initiative to make continental theological scholarship accessible to the English-speaking world.
