Carmen hexametrum de salutari passionis et laetissimae resurrectionis Domini & Saluytoris nostri Iesu Christi meditatione & celebratione

Published in Nuremberg in 1570, this rare hexameter poem serves as a devotional work centered on the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Written by Johannes Temler and printed by Petrus Seitz, it is representative of the pedagogical and theological focus prevalent in mid-16th-century German humanist circles. During this period, Latin poetry was frequently utilized to reinforce ecclesiastical teachings and to provide scholars and clergy with structured meditational texts.

The work reflects the rigorous educational standards of the era, where classical Latin forms like the hexameter were adapted for Christian devotional content. Petrus Seitz, operating in the active printing hub of Nuremberg, provided the necessary technical output for such humanist literature to reach an audience of theologians and students. While specific details regarding the initial reception remain confined to academic archives, such pamphlets were typical of the era's commitment to disseminating scholarly religious reflection through formal verse.
