Where it came from
The Gigantosaurus book series, published by Editorial Planeta, serves as a literary adaptation of the popular CGI-animated television series created by Franck Salomé, Nicolas Sedel, and Fernando Worcel. Based on the original picture book by Jonny Duddle, the series follows the curiosity and adventures of four young dinosaurs—Bill, Mazu, Rocky, and Tiny—as they navigate their prehistoric environment. This particular edition focuses on the dynamic between Bill and Mazu, characters designed to embody distinct personality traits that encourage children to explore themes of problem-solving, friendship, and cautious bravery.
Editorial Planeta released this edition in 2024 to align with the visual aesthetic and narrative tone of the ongoing animated franchise. The design prioritizes bright, accessible graphics and simplified storytelling suitable for younger readers transitioning from screen to page. The series has been received as a foundational entry point for preschool readers, praised for its commitment to the established visual identity of the television show while providing a tactile experience that complements the digital media.
