Where it came from
Published in 2017 by Textem Verlag, this artist's book serves as a focused retrospective on the work of German artist Jürgen Kleft. The volume emerged as part of the publisher's commitment to documenting contemporary visual arts, providing a structured archive of Kleft’s practice, which often interrogates the materiality of images and the boundaries of representational media.
The design of the book reflects a minimalist, clinical aesthetic intended to mirror the artist's own conceptual approach to photography and collage. By organizing disparate visual artifacts into a singular printed format, the book aims to invite viewers into a dialogue about sequence and spatial relationships. It was received within art-focused circles as a precise, restrained contribution to the discourse on modern photography and book design.
