System der Christlichen Glaubenslehre

Isaak August Dorner was a prominent 19th-century German theologian whose System der christlichen Glaubenslehre serves as a foundational work of his Christological thought. First published in the late 1870s, the text represents a rigorous attempt to reconcile traditional Lutheran dogma with the modern philosophical landscape of the era. Dorner, a professor at the University of Berlin, sought to position Christ at the very center of the systematic theological structure, arguing that the incarnation provides the essential framework for understanding both God and humanity.

The 2018 edition published by Creative Media Partners is a modern reprint of this classic theological discourse. Designed to make historical academic texts accessible to contemporary scholars and students of divinity, the work preserves the structure of Dorner’s original inquiry. While the original nineteenth-century volumes were esteemed for their intellectual depth and influence on later systematic theologians, this modern iteration serves primarily as a utilitarian resource for academic libraries and private collections focusing on the history of German Protestant thought.
