System of Christian Doctrine; Volume 4

System of Christian Doctrine, originally published in the late 19th century, represents the crowning achievement of the German theologian Isaak August Dorner. Emerging from the school of mediation theology, the work was designed to harmonize the traditional tenets of Christian dogma with the intellectual advancements of modern critical philosophy. Dorner sought to bridge the gap between Lutheran orthodoxy and the rigorous demands of nineteenth-century rationalism, focusing heavily on the development of the doctrine of the person of Christ.

This 2018 edition by Creative Media Partners is a modern reprint of the classic four-volume English translation. These reprints are produced to preserve historically significant theological texts for academic and research libraries, ensuring that the complex, dense prose of Dorner remains accessible to contemporary scholars. While the original nineteenth-century volumes are prized by collectors for their historical weight, these modern iterations provide a clean, standardized format for students of historical theology.
