Tomb Raider Tankobon Volume 2 (Tomb Raider: Tankobon)

Published in 2006 by Bandai Entertainment, this volume is part of a Japanese-style manga adaptation of the iconic Tomb Raider franchise. The project was spearheaded during a period when the brand sought to expand Lara Croft's presence into diverse media formats beyond video games. Andy Park, a highly respected artist known for his detailed illustrative work, took on the role of artist for these graphic adaptations, aiming to bring a dynamic, cinematic flair to the character's adventures that aligned with the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-2000s.

The tankobon format was chosen to appeal to the growing western market for manga-influenced storytelling. Park’s design approach focused on emphasizing Lara’s athleticism and the atmospheric settings typical of the series, drawing from the source material’s established lore. While the series served as a collectible curiosity for long-time fans, it remains a distinct artifact of the collaborative efforts between Western game developers and Eastern publishing styles during that era.
