Provenance

Where it came from

Originally released in 1978, the live album by Carmen Maki & Oz captured the peak of the Japanese progressive rock movement. Carmen Maki, a singer who transitioned from folk roots to fronting this powerhouse outfit, utilized the album to showcase the band's sophisticated blend of blues-rock and heavy metal arrangements. It remains a definitive document of the band's stage presence during their influential tenure on the Kitty Records label.

This 2018 reissue serves as a careful restoration of the original performance recordings, maintaining the integrity of the ensemble's ambitious compositions. The design aesthetic leans into the raw, high-energy atmosphere of late-seventies Tokyo venues, mirroring the art style of the era. The release was well-received by rock historians and collectors who sought to preserve the legacy of one of Japan’s most significant female-led hard rock groups.
