Where it came from
Released in 2013 on the Klangwelten Records label, Dance With Me represents a continuation of Rüdiger Oppermann's long-standing exploration of the Celtic harp within world music frameworks. Oppermann, a prominent German musician, has spent decades bridging the gap between traditional folk instrumentation and modern improvisational styles. This project was developed as part of his broader mission to use the harp as a vessel for global cultural dialogue, blending rhythmic complexity with atmospheric, meditative textures.
The album reflects Oppermann's established aesthetic, which prioritizes technical proficiency and multi-instrumental layering. Designed to evoke both traditional resonance and contemporary fluidity, the production highlights the interplay between the acoustic harp and global percussion elements. Upon release, the work was received by the world music community as a focused addition to his extensive catalog, appreciated by listeners who track his efforts to expand the harp's sonic footprint beyond its classical and folk origins.
