Where it came from
Vandisphere was released in 2016 through the German label Spheric Music, a cornerstone imprint for electronic music enthusiasts who specialize in Berlin School, ambient, and space-music styles. As a project by the artist Vanderson, the album functions as a thematic exploration of expansive, atmospheric soundscapes that reflect the label's commitment to immersive synthesizer-driven compositions.
The album design reflects the classic aesthetic of independent space-ambient releases, utilizing minimalist, celestial imagery intended to evoke the feeling of cosmic travel and introspection. Like much of the catalogue issued by Spheric Music, the work was received by the niche electronic music community as a focused contribution to the long-standing tradition of German electronic music, serving as a platform for Vanderson to showcase his mastery of sequence-based melodic structures.
