Where it came from
Released in 2005 by Paul van Dyk’s Vandit Records, The Sessions Volume 03 was crafted to capture the specific atmosphere of the Ibiza club scene during the mid-2000s. As a central figure in the trance genre, van Dyk utilized this installment to document his residency on the island, focusing on high-energy, melodic soundscapes that defined the peak of the progressive and uplifting trance movement of the era.
The compilation was designed to reflect the transition between sun-drenched daytime beach sets and the intense, cavernous energy of late-night superclubs. By curating a mix of tracks that emphasized rhythmic complexity and emotive synth work, the release was received by the dance community as a quintessential time capsule of Ibiza’s influence on global electronic music, serving both as a functional DJ tool and a definitive record of the label's aesthetic trajectory.
