Zauberer Von Ost - Mit Uwe Steimle Durch Das Grüne Gewölbe

Released in 2019, this CD captures the unique performative style of German cabaret artist and actor Uwe Steimle. The recording centers on his guided, persona-driven tour of the Grüne Gewölbe, or Green Vault, in Dresden. This historic museum is one of the world's oldest and most significant treasure chambers, containing a vast collection of jewelry, gold, and art pieces dating back to the reign of Augustus the Strong. Steimle utilizes his signature Saxon dialect and dry, satirical humor to provide listeners with an unconventional and deeply personal perspective on these cultural artifacts.

The production leans into Steimle’s reputation as a cultural chronicler who often bridges the gap between historical reverence and modern skepticism. By choosing to release this independently rather than through a major label, the project maintains a feeling of authenticity consistent with his career as a performer. The design and narrative structure aim to translate the intimacy of his live stage presence into an audio format, allowing the listener to feel as though they are walking through the vaulted halls of the Dresden residence alongside the comedian himself.
