Cloak and Dagger #11

Cloak and Dagger #11 was released by Marvel Comics in 1986 as part of the second ongoing series featuring the street-level duo. The characters, created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan, emerged in the early 1980s against a backdrop of increasing urban angst in comic book narratives, specifically addressing themes of drug addiction and vigilante justice. This issue maintains the moody, high-contrast visual identity established for the pair, which often utilized silhouettes and dramatic lighting to reflect their powers and moral complexity.

The interior art for this run often showcased a gritty aesthetic intended to ground the supernatural elements of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson in the harsh realities of New York City. Critics and readers of the period frequently noted the series for its departures from traditional superhero tropes, opting instead for a more somber tone that explored the duo's mutual dependency. While the comic serves as a standard installment in their bibliography, it is representative of Marvel's mid-eighties experimentation with darker, character-driven storytelling.
