Cuentos de Misterio #24

Cuentos de Misterio was a long-running Mexican pulp anthology series published by Editorial Novaro during the mid-20th century. These digest-sized comics were a staple of the Latin American newsstand, providing readers with a mix of suspense, gothic horror, and supernatural thrillers. The series was deeply rooted in the era's fascination with mystery magazines, translating international suspense tropes into a localized, accessible format that enjoyed broad popularity across Spanish-speaking markets.

The visual identity of Cuentos de Misterio relied on high-contrast, dramatic cover art, often executed by anonymous house artists or freelancers working within the Novaro studio system. These illustrations were designed to catch the eye of passersby, utilizing lurid colors and ominous character positioning to suggest impending danger. While the authorship of individual issues remains difficult to attribute due to the industry's focus on rapid production and volume, the series remains a significant artifact of mid-century Mexican pop culture and the distribution of serialized pulp literature.
