Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #122

Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft was established in the mid-1960s by Ehapa Verlag as a prominent series for bringing long-form Carl Barks stories to German-speaking readers. Issue #122 belongs to this tradition of anthologizing the classic Duck universe, focusing on the high-adventure and humorous mishaps typical of Duckburg. These digests were instrumental in cementing the popularity of Disney comics in Germany during the late 20th century.

The editorial direction of the Sonderheft series focused on curate-selected stories from the vault of Western Publishing, primarily highlighting the work of Carl Barks and later, Don Rosa. The design aesthetic is defined by its compact, accessible format, intended for broad readership rather than niche collectors. The reception of these issues has historically been strong among European comic enthusiasts who appreciate the meticulous translation work and the enduring charm of Barks' narrative style.
