Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1

Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1 emerged as part of a collaborative indie comic project that explored surrealist narrative structures. Published in the early 2010s, the series utilized the classic 'exquisite corpse' technique, where multiple artists contributed panels or segments in sequence without seeing the full context of what preceded their work, resulting in a fractured and disorienting aesthetic.

The design and illustration were spearheaded by a rotating cast of underground comic creators who sought to challenge traditional storytelling conventions. The artwork generally favored high-contrast, visceral ink work to emphasize the uncanny nature of the titular character. While the series maintained a niche following within the experimental comic scene, it was received primarily as a curiosity for collectors interested in avant-garde collaborative art rather than mainstream genre horror.
