FemForce #143

FemForce #143, published by AC Comics, continues the long-running adventures of a team of female superheroes that began in the 1980s. The series was created by Bill Black, who sought to revive the spirit of Golden Age comics by featuring strong female protagonists in a universe characterized by science fiction and pulp adventure elements. This specific issue represents a later installment in the series, reflecting the ongoing evolution of the characters within the established AC Comics continuity.

The visual identity of FemForce has been defined by a nostalgic approach to comic book art, leaning heavily into the classic pin-up and adventure styles prevalent in mid-century fiction. Bill Black, acting as both writer and publisher, maintained creative control over the series for decades, consistently utilizing his house style to distinguish the title from contemporary mainstream superhero fare. While FemForce remains a niche interest, it is frequently cited by collectors for its unwavering commitment to a specific aesthetic lineage that traces back to the 1940s.
