Guardians of the Galaxy #26

Guardians of the Galaxy issue number 26, released in 2010 during the volume two series, serves as a significant entry in the modern cosmic era of Marvel Comics. Written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, the issue continues the complex narrative arc following the events of the War of Kings, focusing on the team's efforts to maintain order across a fractured galaxy. This period in the franchise's history is widely regarded by fans for revitalizing the Guardians, establishing the character dynamics that would eventually inform their mainstream cinematic popularity.

The interior art for this issue was primarily handled by Brad Walker, whose distinct style helped define the gritty, high-stakes tone of the Marvel cosmic line at the time. The cover art often featured the team in precarious interstellar environments, emphasizing the desperate nature of their mission. Critically, this run is lauded for its dense world-building and for successfully balancing a large ensemble cast, grounding fantastical space opera concepts within the internal personal struggles of characters like Star-Lord and Drax the Destroyer.
