Ken il Guerriero: Le Origini del Mito Extreme Edition #4

Ken il Guerriero: Le Origini del Mito, known as Fist of the Blue Sky, serves as the prequel to the iconic Hokuto no Ken series. This Extreme Edition line was published by Planet Manga to provide a definitive, high-quality reading experience, featuring larger trim sizes and improved print clarity to showcase Tetsuo Hara’s detailed illustrative style. The series explores the life of Kenshiro Kasumi, the 62nd successor of the Hokuto Shinken art, set against the backdrop of 1930s Shanghai.

The narrative, originally written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, captures the gritty, hyper-masculine aesthetic that defined the franchise throughout the 1980s and 2000s. The Extreme Edition is prized by collectors for its comprehensive packaging and preservation of the raw, kinetic energy found in Hara’s original pencil work. Upon release, this specific edition was well-received by fans looking for a prestige format that honors the historical impact of the Fist of the North Star universe.
