Where it came from
La Nouvelle Vie de Lili was a series of French comic albums released in the 1940s and 1950s, continuing the legacy of the original Lili character created by André Vallet and Christophe. This specific post-war iteration reflected the evolving cultural landscape of France, transitioning the classic character into new narrative structures that aimed to engage a younger generation growing up in the post-liberation era.
The series is noted for its clean, expressive line work characteristic of mid-century Franco-Belgian comics, though the specific creative team for issue number 7 followed the established house style developed by the Éditions de la Piccola. It was designed to provide moralistic and lighthearted entertainment, serving as a staple of juvenile periodicals of the time before eventually becoming a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of vintage European comic history.
