La Nouvelle Vie de Lili #10

La Nouvelle Vie de Lili is a classic French comic series that served as a continuation of the long-running Lili series, which originated in the early 20th century. Issue #10 was produced during the mid-century period as part of a post-war effort to modernize the character for a new generation of youth readers. These comics were defined by their modest, digest-sized format and were designed as accessible, affordable entertainment intended to instill traditional moral values through lighthearted adventures.

The character and visual style of Lili were heavily influenced by the work of French illustrator André Vallet, who maintained the aesthetic continuity of the brand for decades. The illustrations are characterized by a clean, ligne claire-adjacent style that emphasized clarity and narrative flow over complex artistic experimentation. While these issues were primarily considered ephemeral children's literature at the time of their release, they are now regarded as significant artifacts of mid-century European print culture and are highly sought after by collectors of vintage bande dessinée.
