Where it came from
La Nueva Patrulla-X #98 was published as part of the Spanish-language reprint series by Ediciones Vértice, which brought Marvel Comics to the Iberian market during the 1970s and early 1980s. These editions were often reformatted and colorized differently from their American counterparts, reflecting the editorial practices of the era that sought to introduce international superhero narratives to a Spanish audience.
The issue features cover and interior art typical of the Vértice style, which often consolidated stories from various American X-Men runs into single volumes. This series is remembered for its role in establishing the fanbase for mutants in Spain, despite the distinct stylistic adjustments made to the original artwork to suit the local production formats of the time.
