La Zorra y el Cuervo #144

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban comic book series centered on the classic Aesop-inspired fable of the fox and the crow. Published by the Editorial Juvenil, the series became a staple of Cuban childhoods during the latter half of the 20th century. Issue #144 emerged during a period when the publication had solidified its aesthetic, blending whimsical storytelling with the distinct illustrative style favored by the state-run publishing house to educate and entertain young readers.

The character designs were heavily influenced by the visual language of mid-century animation, prioritizing expressive, anthropomorphic features that allowed for clear moral instruction through humor. As part of a long-running serial, this issue reflects the standardized production values of the era, where consistent artistry and approachable narratives were prioritized over experimental graphic design. The series remains a significant cultural touchstone, often analyzed today for its role in shaping popular reading habits in Cuba.
