Linda og Valentin - Agenter i Tid og Rum #11

Linda og Valentin - Agenter i Tid og Rum, known internationally as Valérian and Laureline, is a seminal French science fiction comic series created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. The eleventh volume in the original sequence, originally titled Métro Châtelet, direction Cassiopeia, was first published in 1980. It represents a significant narrative shift for the series as the protagonists, having spent years traveling the cosmos, find themselves abruptly grounded in the gritty reality of contemporary Paris, tasked with investigating strange phenomena beneath the city streets.

The visual design of this volume highlights Mézières' evolution toward blending grounded, urban realism with his signature futuristic flair. By pulling his space-faring characters out of their usual operatic environments and into the claustrophobic, mundane setting of the Parisian Métro, Christin and Mézières intended to bridge the gap between hard science fiction and social commentary. The work was well-received by European critics for its stylistic versatility and remains a cornerstone of the Franco-Belgian bandes dessinées tradition, heavily influencing the visual language of later cinematic science fiction.
