Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace #3

Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace #3 was released as part of a digital-exclusive comic miniseries published by IDW Publishing in 2018. Designed to deepen the lore surrounding Jace Beleren, one of the most prominent Planeswalkers in the franchise, the series was commissioned by Wizards of the Coast to bridge narrative gaps between major card set expansions. The creative team aimed to provide a more intimate look at the character's internal development and his complex history before his rise to power within the Magic multiverse.

The visual direction for the series relied on a modern comic book aesthetic that aimed to translate the high-fantasy art style of the trading card game into a sequential storytelling format. While the series was generally well-received by established players interested in expanding their understanding of the game's expansive canon, it occupies a specific niche within the broader body of Magic: The Gathering multimedia projects, serving primarily as a reference for lore enthusiasts rather than a mainstream industry hit.
