Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace #4

Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace #4 was released by IDW Publishing as part of a limited comic book miniseries exploring the backstory of Jace Beleren, one of the most prominent planeswalkers in the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. Published around 2012, this series was developed during a period when Wizards of the Coast was actively expanding the narrative footprint of the game through external media, aiming to provide deeper character context for players familiar with Jace’s role in the card game's lore.

The creative direction for the series focused on bridging the gap between the character's mysterious origins and his later status as a powerful telepath. The artwork and scripting were intended to capture the moody, intellectual tone associated with the blue mana color identity. While the series was generally well-received by franchise enthusiasts for its efforts to humanize a key figure in the game, it remains a specialized piece of supplemental literature primarily targeted at long-term collectors of Magic: The Gathering memorabilia.
