Predator: Hell & Hot Water #3

Predator: Hell & Hot Water #3 was published by Dark Horse Comics in 1997 as part of a three-issue limited series. Set against the backdrop of a deep-sea mining operation, the story follows a crew besieged by the titular extraterrestrial hunter. This series emerged during the height of Dark Horse's creative control over the Predator franchise, a period defined by an ambitious expansion of the alien's mythology beyond the cinematic universe through various interconnected miniseries.

The series was written by Dan Abnett and illustrated by Enrique Alcatena, whose distinct, ornate style provided a gritty and claustrophobic aesthetic well-suited to the underwater setting. The narrative was received as a competent entry in the expanded universe, noted for its successful translation of the Predator's lethal efficiency into a submerged, industrial environment. It remains a representative example of the late-nineties trend in genre comics that prioritized high-concept horror scenarios for established movie monsters.
