Psylocke #2

Psylocke #2, published in 2010, arrived as the second installment of a four-issue limited series centered on Betsy Braddock, a long-standing member of the X-Men. Following her prominent role in the Uncanny X-Men, Marvel Comics commissioned this series to explore her personal history and autonomy as a ninja-assassin living in Japan. The narrative sought to reconcile her complex psychic origins with her physicality as an operative of the Hand, a tension that has defined the character since her transition into her new body in the late 1980s.

The issue was written by Christopher Yost and illustrated by Harvey Tolibao, who aimed for a sleek, kinetic visual style to match the high-octane espionage themes of the series. Tolibao’s work on this title was noted for its sharp, detailed character models and dynamic action sequences, which were intended to emphasize Psylocke’s tactical expertise. The series was generally received as a competent, character-focused entry that solidified her modern standing as an independent protagonist within the Marvel Universe.
