Secret Origins #11

Secret Origins #11 was published by DC Comics in February 1987 as part of a series dedicated to retelling the definitive origin stories of iconic characters. This specific issue focused on the origin of the Doom Patrol, a group of misfits and outcasts who were famously reimagined for the era. The issue served to integrate the team into the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths landscape, honoring their 1963 debut while adjusting their narrative for a new generation of readers.

The issue features art and creative input characteristic of the mid-80s DC house style, emphasizing character development and the somber, tragic nature of the Doom Patrol's initial formation. It was designed to provide clarity for readers confused by the team's complex history and shifting rosters. The issue is generally regarded by collectors as a reliable bridge between the Silver Age roots of the team and the grittier, more modern interpretations that would follow under writers like Grant Morrison.
