The Incredible Hulk #182

Published in December 1974, The Incredible Hulk #182 serves as a pivotal bridge in Marvel Comics history, arriving shortly after the high-profile introduction of Wolverine in the preceding issue. This edition features a story written by Len Wein and illustrated by Herb Trimpe, capturing the era's transition toward more complex, serialized narratives within the superhero genre. The cover, rendered by Herb Trimpe, continues the visual storytelling style that defined the title during the early 1970s.

The narrative follows the Hulk as he grapples with the fallout of his recent confrontation with Wolverine, focusing on themes of isolation and the character's ongoing struggle with his internal duality. By this point in the series, Herb Trimpe had established a definitive visual identity for the Hulk, characterized by a grounded, muscular anatomy that emphasized the character’s raw power. While it is often overshadowed by the historical significance of the preceding issue, #182 remains a respected installment for its role in developing the supporting cast and atmosphere of the Hulk’s world during the mid-Bronze Age of comics.
