The Incredible Hulk #202

Published in August 1976 by Marvel Comics, The Incredible Hulk #202 represents a notable chapter during the mid-1970s run of the series. This issue is part of a period where the creative team, led by writer Len Wein and artist Sal Buscema, focused on shifting the character's narrative toward more complex global confrontations. At the time, the series was navigating the tension between the Hulk’s destructive impulses and his role as a reluctant, often misunderstood, wanderer.

The cover and interior art by Sal Buscema reflect the kinetic, muscular style that defined the Hulk's aesthetic throughout the decade. Buscema was instrumental in establishing the visual language of the character, prioritizing heavy, action-oriented panels that emphasized the Hulk's immense physical presence. The issue was received as a standard piece of 1970s Bronze Age storytelling, serving the established readership's appetite for high-stakes conflicts and continuing the long-form character development that characterized Wein's tenure on the title.
