The Occult Files Of Dr. Spektor #3

The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor debuted in 1973 under Gold Key Comics, emerging during a period when the Comics Code Authority had loosened restrictions on supernatural subject matter. Created by writer Donald F. Glut and artist Dan Spiegle, the series centered on Adam Spektor, an occult investigator traveling the world to confront various monsters and paranormal entities. It was designed to bridge the gap between traditional superhero adventures and the burgeoning interest in horror and gothic fiction during the early 1970s.

Issue number three, released in 1973, features the character's characteristic blend of investigative mystery and pulp horror. Dan Spiegle’s illustrations are noted for their clean, realistic linework, which provided a grounded visual anchor for the outlandish supernatural scenarios scripted by Glut. The series was generally well-received by readers of the era for its episodic, self-contained storytelling and its departure from the standard caped crusader archetypes prevalent in the mainstream market at the time.
