Vigilante #2

Vigilante #2 was published in December 1983 as part of a series spinning out of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's acclaimed run on The New Teen Titans. The character, Adrian Chase, was introduced during the 'Judas Contract' storyline as a complex, morally ambiguous figure grappling with the aftermath of his own trauma and a desire for lethal justice, reflecting the shifting tone of DC Comics toward more grounded, gritty narratives in the mid-1980s.

The issue features artwork by Marv Wolfman and pencils by George Pérez, who sought to imbue the series with a grounded sense of urban realism that contrasted with the more traditional superhero fare of the era. The series was well-regarded for its psychological exploration of the vigilante archetype, though it often operated in the shadow of other high-profile DC titles, ultimately carving out a niche for its stark portrayal of crime and systemic failure in New York City.
