Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker #105

Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker #105 was published by Dell Comics in 1957 as part of the long-running Four Color series and the subsequent self-titled run that popularized the character in print. The issue emerged during the golden age of licensed animation comics, a period when Dell leveraged the immense success of the Walter Lantz studio's theatrical shorts to provide family-friendly reading material that mirrored the slapstick energy of the cartoons.

The interior artwork for the series typically relied on a rotating staff of uncredited artists and writers working under the strict editorial standards of the era, which aimed for consistency with the animated source material. While the specific creative team for issue 105 reflected the standardized Dell house style, the design prioritized kinetic, gag-driven panels that successfully translated the erratic, manic personality of Woody Woodpecker from the screen to the static medium of the page for his young audience.
