Wonder Woman #82

Wonder Woman #82, published in 1956, represents a significant period in the character’s history during the late Golden Age transition. At this time, the series was written by Robert Kanigher, who took over the scripting duties following the departure of Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston. These issues were part of a broader effort to maintain the character's relevance in the comic book market as superhero popularity shifted and DC Comics sought to refine their established icons for a post-war audience.

The interior artwork for this era was primarily handled by Harry G. Peter, whose distinctive style defined the early visual identity of the Amazon princess. Peter’s illustrations, characterized by a bold, fluid quality, were instrumental in establishing the mythological and adventure-oriented tone of the series. By this issue, the stories often featured increasingly fantastical elements that leaned into the science fiction and mythological tropes that would come to define DC Comics throughout the late 1950s.
