Where it came from
Casey Jones, numbered 394 in the Pop! Television series, was released by Funko to commemorate the character’s prominent role in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Designed with the signature stylized aesthetic of the Pop! line, the figure captures Casey’s iconic appearance, complete with his utilitarian hockey mask and makeshift weaponry. The figure serves as a tribute to the character's long-standing history as a vigilante ally to the turtles, originating from the 1980s Mirage Studios comic books.
The design process for this figure reflects Funko's approach to translating gritty, comic-book-inspired characters into their recognizable, simplified vinyl form. By focusing on the essential visual markers like the mask and sports gear, the designers aimed to evoke the nostalgia of the original cartoons and comics. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the series, functioning as a staple addition for collectors interested in expanding their TMNT ensemble beyond the main four protagonists.
