Casper

Casper the Friendly Ghost first appeared in a 1939 children's storybook and later became a staple of Famous Studios theatrical shorts starting in 1945. The character's enduring cultural presence, rooted in a shift away from the traditional, frightening depictions of ghosts, cemented him as a mid-century animation icon. This Funko Pop figure, released under the Pop! Animation line as number 850, pays homage to the classic, minimalist design that defined his look across decades of comic books and television spin-offs.

The figure features the quintessential Casper aesthetic: a simple, pear-shaped spectral form with large, friendly eyes and a gentle expression. Funko’s design team opted for a clean, stylized interpretation that maintains the character's recognizable silhouette while aligning with the company’s signature vinyl aesthetic. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of nostalgia-driven collectibles, serving as a tactile link to the classic animation style that transitioned from the golden age of cartoons into the modern pop culture consciousness.
