Where it came from
The Casey Jones Pop! figure, designated number 20 in the Retro Toys line, was released by Funko to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. It depicts the vigilante character in his signature hockey mask and athletic gear, reflecting his 1987 animated series appearance. This design choice leans into the nostalgia of the original series, capturing the gritty yet stylized aesthetic that defined the character during his peak popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Funko’s design approach for this piece centers on the iconic, exaggerated proportions characteristic of the Pop! vinyl line while maintaining recognizable details like the golf bag and hockey stick. It was produced as part of a broader push to honor classic toy and cartoon lines, targeting adult collectors who grew up with the source material. The figure was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful translation of the character's distinct vigilante look into the company's signature collectible format.
