Where it came from
Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, was introduced to audiences in the 1993 stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas, directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton. The character, designed by Burton himself, features a distinct aesthetic inspired by German Expressionism, utilizing elongated limbs and a skeletal frame to contrast with the colorful residents of Christmas Town. The figure captures his iconic pinstripe suit and skeletal visage, a look that has become a staple of modern pop culture and gothic-inspired merchandise.
This specific iteration is part of the extensive Funko Pop! Disney series, which translates iconic cinematic characters into the brand's signature stylized vinyl form. Funko has released numerous variations of Jack Skellington over the years to commemorate the film's enduring cult status. Numbered 1501 in the line, this piece continues the tradition of capturing the Pumpkin King's recognizable silhouette for collectors of animation memorabilia.
