Where it came from
Ms. Fuchi, a character from the unsettling works of Japanese horror manga artist Junji Ito, was immortalized as part of the Funko Pop! Animation series in 2021. As a key figure from the 'Fashion Model' story, the character is known for her towering, jagged-toothed, and menacing appearance. Funko chose to render this specific iteration as number 913, capturing her iconic wide-mouthed, predatory grin that haunts fans of Ito's body horror aesthetic.
The design draws directly from Ito’s distinctive, high-contrast illustration style, emphasizing the character's unnaturally gaunt features and sharp teeth to translate her graphic-novel terror into a stylized vinyl form. Upon release, the figure was well-received within the horror enthusiast community, serving as a rare piece of merchandise for a genre often underserved in the toy market, and it is widely viewed as a faithful adaptation of the character’s most recognizable and disturbing panel appearance.
