Where it came from
Sesshomaru number 769 was released as part of the Pop! Animation line representing the classic anime series Inuyasha. Created by Rumiko Takahashi, the character of Sesshomaru is a powerful dog demon and the half-brother of the protagonist, Inuyasha. The figure captures his signature aesthetic, including his flowing silver hair, the purple crescent moon on his forehead, and the distinct attire that marks his noble status within the feudal era setting of the source material.
The design of this Funko figure emphasizes the character's cold, regal demeanor, which has made him a fan favorite since the series' debut in the late 1990s. As part of a broader collection that brought various Inuyasha characters into the Pop! aesthetic, this item was intended to appeal to long-time followers of the anime. It received a warm reception from collectors who appreciated the faithful translation of Sesshomaru’s complex costume and icy expression into the simplified, stylized vinyl format.
