Where it came from
Skipper, the tactical leader of the penguins in the Madagascar film franchise, was immortalized as Funko Pop! Movies figure number 161 as part of the company's expanding line of DreamWorks Animation collectibles. This specific variant depicts Skipper in his 'cheesy' pose, referencing the character's signature blend of military-grade stoicism and penchant for snack foods that punctuated the humor of the films throughout the mid-2000s.
The figure features the distinct, stylized aesthetic characteristic of the early-to-mid 2010s Pop! releases, focusing on the character's oversized head and simplified, expressive features. The design team sought to capture the penguin's assertive personality through his rigid posture and brow structure, resulting in a piece that resonated with collectors of animation memorabilia and fans of the Madagascar spin-off projects.
