Where it came from
The Skrull Pop! Comic Cover, numbered 16 in the series, celebrates the extraterrestrial shape-shifting species first introduced in Marvel's Fantastic Four #2 in 1962. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Skrulls were designed as a formidable, recurring antagonist race in the Marvel Universe, reflecting the Cold War-era fascination with space-age paranoia and invasion narratives.
This collectible commemorates the classic aesthetic of early Marvel comics by encasing a stylized vinyl figure against a backdrop of a vintage comic cover. Funko launched the Comic Covers line to appeal to fans who value the intersection of modern toy design and historical comic book art, receiving praise for its display-ready presentation that preserves the iconic cover imagery while highlighting the character's signature green skin and purple armored attire.
